Terms of Service
These terms govern your use of the Ruliad Platform: the Ruliad API, the website at platform.ruliad.co, the playground, documentation and SDKs (together, the "Services"), provided by [Ruliad legal entity name] ("Ruliad", "we"). If you use the Services for an organisation, you accept these terms on its behalf and confirm you may do so.
Accounts and access
You need an account, approved by us, to use the Services. Keep your sign-in email and API keys secure: you are responsible for activity under your account and keys. Tell us at once at security@ruliad.co if you think a key or account was compromised; revoke the key in your dashboard.
You must be at least 18 and able to enter a binding contract. We may limit, queue or pause new sign-ups, and suspend access that breaches these terms or the Acceptable Use Policy, puts the Services or others at risk, or is required by law. Where we reasonably can, we tell you first.
Your data
Your inputs (text, images, audio and other content you send) and the outputs the models return for them are your Customer Content. As between you and us, you own your inputs and, to the extent the law allows, the outputs; we assign to you any rights we have in the outputs.
We use Customer Content only to provide the Services to you: to run the request, return the result, bill it, keep the Services secure and comply with law. We do not use Customer Content to train or improve models, and we do not sell it or share it for advertising.
We do not store the content of API or playground requests. Inputs pass through our API gateway to the model and are held in memory only as long as needed to answer (and, for follow-up requests that refer to an input by its hash, for a few minutes), then discarded. We keep request metadata (see the Privacy Policy) for billing, security and service analytics.
Business customers can sign our Data Processing Addendum, which applies to personal data in Customer Content.
Credits, prices and payment
Usage is billed in credits: per request, per input and output token, or per unit, at the prices shown for each model version in your dashboard and documentation. Credits come from your plan, from purchases and from any free allowance. Prices for a model version may change with notice; the price that applies is the one in effect when the request is made.
Payments are processed by Stripe. Subscriptions renew each period until cancelled; you can cancel at any time and keep the plan until the period ends. Purchased credits are not refundable except where the law requires or we agree. If a payment is reversed or refunded, we remove the credits it bought, and usage beyond your balance becomes an amount you owe.
Requests that fail on our side are not charged. A streamed response you stop reading after content has reached you is charged for what was delivered.
Acceptable use
You must follow the Acceptable Use Policy, which is part of these terms. You are responsible for your use of outputs, including checking them before relying on them for decisions that affect people.
Models and changes
Model versions are immutable once published; aliases such as "latest" may move to newer versions. We may retire a version with reasonable notice when a successor is available. Features labelled preview or beta may change or end without notice.
Outputs are generated by machine-learning models and can be wrong, incomplete or inconsistent. The Services are not designed for uses where an error could cause death, injury or severe harm without human review.
Our intellectual property and feedback
We and our licensors own the Services, models, software and documentation. You may use them only as these terms allow; you may not reverse-engineer models or the Services, extract model weights, or use outputs to build a competing model. If you send us feedback, we may use it without obligation to you.
Confidentiality and security
We protect Customer Content with administrative, technical and physical measures appropriate to its nature, including encryption in transit, access limited to the people who need it to run the Services, and audit logging of administrative access. Details are in the Data Processing Addendum.
Warranties and liability
The Services are provided "as is". To the extent the law allows, we disclaim all implied warranties, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement.
To the extent the law allows, neither party is liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or lost profits or data, and each party's total liability is limited to the amounts you paid us for the Services in the 12 months before the claim. These limits do not apply to your payment obligations, to breaches of the Acceptable Use Policy, or where the law does not allow them.
You will defend and indemnify us against third-party claims arising from your Customer Content or your use of the Services in breach of these terms.
Term, suspension and termination
You may stop using the Services and close your account at any time. We may terminate these terms with 30 days' notice, or immediately for material breach. On termination, unpaid amounts become due and you lose access to the Services; sections that by their nature should survive (data, payment, liability, intellectual property) survive.
General
We may update these terms; we will give notice of material changes at least 30 days before they apply, except where a change is required by law or concerns new features. Continued use after that date means you accept the update.
These terms are governed by the laws of [governing law], and disputes go to the courts of [venue], unless the law of your country requires otherwise. Questions: support@ruliad.co.
